Email verification for B2B sales teams
Email verification confirms which prospects and contacts in your CRM still have a working inbox, so SDRs and AEs spend sequences on people who can reply. RocketVerifier is the strongest choice for B2B sales: it verifies Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive and Zoho CRM records in place, gives catch-all corporate domains a send_safe, send_with_caution or avoid verdict, runs inside Clay as a column, and delivers 99.5% accuracy.
The problem
Where bad addresses hurt B2B sales teams
-
CRM data decays every quarter
Contacts change jobs, companies move to new domains and mailboxes get shut off. Reps keep sequencing them, and every bounce counts against the rep's inbox.
-
Corporate domains accept everything
Many B2B domains are catch-all. A basic check calls them valid or unknown, so reps either send to everything and bounce, or skip good accounts.
-
Data provider lists arrive unchecked
Exports from data providers mix confirmed emails with pattern guesses. Load them straight into a sequence and the first step bounces.
What we flag
Every address gets a verdict and a reason
Each result carries a status, a sub-status and a score, so you can decide exactly what to keep, review or remove.
-
Catch-all domains (catch_all with catch_all_verdict)
Corporate domains that accept every address get a verdict from a 0 to 100 score based on provider, local part and the domain's address pattern, such as first.last.
-
Job changers (mailbox_not_found, account_disabled)
A champion who left the company has a dead mailbox. We report it undeliverable so the rep finds the new address and the new contact.
-
Shared inboxes (role_based)
sales@, info@ and support@ addresses are flagged risky, so they stay out of one-to-one sequences.
-
Trap patterns (possible_trap)
Known typo-trap domains and trap local parts in purchased or scraped data are flagged risky before they hurt your domain.
-
Opted-out prospects (do_not_mail)
Prospects who asked to be removed come back do_not_mail, even when a fresh data export brings them back.
-
Gateways that block probes (blocked, greylisted)
Security gateways that defer or block return unknown, greylisting is retried automatically, and unknowns are never charged. A policy block is never reported as undeliverable.
Workflow
How it fits your day
-
Connect your CRM
Connect Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive or Zoho CRM. Pick all Leads, a list view or a saved filter, and results land in fields on each record.
-
Verify new records automatically
In HubSpot, new contacts are checked the moment they are created. Elsewhere, call the API from Zapier, Make or your enrichment flow.
-
Verify in Clay
Add a RocketVerifier column to your Clay table, so every enriched prospect carries a status, sub-status and catch-all verdict before it reaches a sequence.
-
Build sequences by verdict
Send to deliverable and send_safe contacts, test send_with_caution in small batches and drop avoid. Use the score to rank the rest.
-
Ask your AI assistant
Reps using Claude or ChatGPT verify a prospect through the MCP server and get the same result as the API.

FAQ
B2B sales: questions, answered
Can I verify Salesforce leads without exporting?
Yes. Connect Salesforce and choose all Leads, all Contacts, a list view or active campaign members. Results are written to custom fields on Leads and Contacts, and bad addresses can be unsubscribed.
Why are so many of our prospects catch-all?
Many corporate mail servers and security gateways accept mail for any address. We probe 3 random addresses at the domain to confirm it, then score each address on provider, how plausible the name is and the domain's address pattern. That score becomes the send_safe, send_with_caution or avoid verdict.
Do Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace domains verify?
Yes, through a live SMTP check like any other domain. MX hosting alone is never treated as deliverable: only an explicit answer from the server counts, and blocked or timed-out checks come back unknown and free.
How often should we re-verify the CRM?
Verify new records as they arrive, and re-verify contacts right before they enter a new sequence. Contacts nobody has touched in a few months are the ones most likely to have changed jobs.
Do we need to verify lists from a data provider?
Yes. Upload the export as a bulk job, or verify the list inside Apollo or Clay. Each row gets a status and a reason, so you see which provider emails hold up before the first step sends.
