BIMI Record Generator

Create the TXT record that tells mailbox providers where your brand logo lives, then check that your domain's DMARC policy qualifies. The record is built in your browser and nothing is sent to RocketVerifier.

The domain in your From address.

Use default unless you need more than one logo.

HTTPS link to a square SVG in the SVG Tiny Portable/Secure profile.

HTTPS link to the PEM file from your certificate issuer. Gmail needs it to show the logo.

Your BIMI record

TXT
Host / name
default._bimi.example.com
Value
v=BIMI1; l=https://example.com/brand/logo.svg;

Some DNS providers add your domain automatically. If yours does, enter only default._bimi as the host.

  • Add your logo URL. The preview shows a placeholder until you do.
  • No certificate (a=). Gmail shows BIMI logos only with a VMC or CMC. Add one before you rely on the logo showing there.

Readiness check

Looks up your DMARC policy and any BIMI record already published at this selector. DNS is queried from your browser over DNS-over-HTTPS; nothing goes through RocketVerifier.

A logo in the inbox needs mail that lands there

BIMI only shows for senders with a good reputation. Verifying your list keeps hard bounces from dragging it down.

What the bimi record generator does

A BIMI record is a TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com that points to your logo (l=, an SVG Tiny Portable/Secure file over HTTPS) and, optionally, a Verified Mark Certificate or Common Mark Certificate (a=). Mailbox providers show the logo only when the domain passes DMARC at enforcement: p=quarantine or p=reject, applied to all mail. This tool builds the record and checks your DMARC policy.

How it works

How the BIMI Record Generator works

  1. Prepare the logo

Export a square SVG in the SVG Tiny Portable/Secure profile and host it on HTTPS. Add your VMC or CMC file if you have one.

  2. Build the record

Enter your domain and the URLs, then copy the TXT host and value. The record is built in your browser.

  3. Check readiness

Look up your DMARC policy and any existing BIMI record over DNS-over-HTTPS, straight from your browser.

Reading your result

What the readiness check means

  • DMARC is BIMI ready

p=quarantine or p=reject, no pct below 100, and subdomains not set to none. Publish the BIMI record and the policy side is covered.

  • p=none or no DMARC record

BIMI is not possible yet. Move DMARC to enforcement first, in stages, reading the aggregate reports as you go.

  • Partial enforcement

pct below 100, sp=none or t=y test mode keeps some mail out of enforcement. Remove them once your reports are clean.

  • No BIMI record yet

Nothing is published at the selector. Add the generated TXT record with your DNS provider.

BIMI checklist

  1. 1 SPF and DKIM pass and align for every service that sends as your domain.
  2. 2 DMARC at enforcement: p=quarantine or p=reject, no pct below 100, sp not none.
  3. 3 A square SVG Tiny PS logo hosted on HTTPS.
  4. 4 A VMC or CMC for Gmail, with its PEM file on HTTPS.
  5. 5 The BIMI TXT record at selector._bimi.yourdomain.com.

FAQ

BIMI record FAQ

What do I need before BIMI works?

Three things: DMARC at enforcement (p=quarantine or p=reject, applied to all mail), a square logo in SVG Tiny Portable/Secure format served over HTTPS, and the BIMI TXT record pointing to it. To show the logo in Gmail you also need a VMC or CMC. The BIMI Group publishes the full specification and implementation guide at bimigroup.org.

Do I need a VMC or a CMC?

For Gmail, yes: it shows BIMI logos only for senders with a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or a Common Mark Certificate (CMC). A VMC requires a registered trademark for the logo; a CMC does not. Both are issued by certificate authorities, and the PEM file they give you goes in the a= tag.

Which mailbox providers show BIMI logos?

Gmail shows them for senders with a VMC or CMC, and Yahoo shows BIMI logos for qualifying senders. Support changes over time, so check the list of participating mailbox providers that the BIMI Group keeps on bimigroup.org.

What is SVG Tiny Portable/Secure?

A restricted SVG profile made for BIMI. It removes scripts, external references, animation and interactive elements, so a logo cannot load anything or run code in an inbox. The image must be square. Most design tools do not export it directly, so plan a conversion step and validate the file before you publish.

Does BIMI improve deliverability?

Not by itself. BIMI rewards senders who already authenticate with SPF, DKIM and DMARC at enforcement, and mailbox providers still decide placement on reputation. Low bounce rates are part of that reputation, which is what list verification protects.

Your logo only shows if your mail lands

BIMI rewards senders with a strong reputation. Verifying your list keeps hard bounces from wearing it down.
